Sumptuous big oval inlaid table in root and bois de rose, Luigi XV 18th century Venetian Baroque style, handcrafted and customizable for elegant dining rooms and entries of luxury houses. This exclusive table is built in Vangelista Mobili 1960’s art laboratory, 100% Made in Italy.
The top of the sumptuous big oval inlaid table has a band under it that fastens the 4 supporting sabre shaped legs, which are typical of Venetian tables handcrafted in the craft shops during the 18th century.
The sumptuous big oval inlaid table in walnut root in 18th Venetian style is made of ferrarese walnut (a top quality wood very hard to find), the inlaid thread is made of bois de rose whereas all the internal structure is made of solid spruce wood.
The top of the sumptuous big oval inlaid table has a book-match processing (specular technique typical of the Venetian furnishing during the 18th century) towards the centre, with veneering 4mm., thick, surrounded by an inlaid thread made of rosewood and streaked walnut with the precious vertical grain. The edge of the top is owl-beak moulded with head grain whereas the band below has the same line as the top and the same processing too, whereas the lower part is embellished by an elegant torus cornice with head grain. The 4 supporting legs are fastened to the bands through mortise and tenon joints and the sabre-shape makes the whole product refined and slender. The furniture is hand-polished with natural products hazel and hand-antiqued by stone in the most protruding parts, painted with water-based brown clays for the right shade and established by shellac applied with a brush, final protection with a swab soaked with straw yellow oil and pumice stone powder to enhance the beautiful walnut grain. Vangelista mobili 1960 is one of the few craft businesses that polishes by hand its products with the same techniques used during the 18th century.
Built in size 200x130x80h., the table is handcrafted and customizable for dimensions, type of wood and polishing.
The original sumptuous big oval inlaid table dates back to the second half of the 18th century.
The story behind the reproduction of this table is very curious. The family Curtis-Conte, owners of the old and majestic palace Barbaro in San Vidal (Venice), contacted us for the reproduction of a couple of original and beautiful Venetian console tables at the entry. During our visit to the precious palace we noticed, in the middle of the dining room, an amazing oval table completely inlaid in walnut root. Given the strong demand from our clientele, we asked the owners the permission to reproduce that table. By their courtesy, we traced the shape of the top and of the sabre-shaped legs, we took detailed pictures of the structure and obtained all the measures to reproduce the table. Through this precious material, we had been able to reproduce this luxury sumptuous big oval inlaid table. The table is handcrafted and hand-polished in our art laboratory, 100% made in Italy.
