The hand-carved console table lacquered in marble and pure gold has a rectangular shape and it is processed as a centre room table (symmetrically processed on all the 4 sides), the top has a curved shape, the frame is fastened to the 4 bands through shaped supports. The elegant lines and the shape of its structure make this table perfect for any room in the house, for example, console table for entries or furniture for the dining room, and it is crafted in big dimension too, as a dining table, for majestic and important luxury houses.

Raw Material

The top of the hand-carved console table lacquered in marble and pure gold is made of walnut wood, the frame (the lower part) is made of lime wood, perfect for inlays because it has no knots. The gilding is made with pure gold 24 carat and transparent shellac. The table is handcrafted and lacquered with natural products.

Manufacture

The top of the hand-carved console table lacquered in marble and pure gold is made of walnut wood and the slats are put together through a slot-in joint system to keep stability over time and curved-shaped on all sides. The rounded corners make the profile sophisticated and elegant, thanks to the slight moulding which surrounds the edge of the top, whereas the lower part is assembled with the supporting legs fastened to the bands. The bands of the frame are finely hand-carved with acanthus leaves and join to the well-carved legs, typical of the furniture in vogue during the 18th century, Venetian Baroque style. The top is lacquered in green alpine faux marble and the beautiful lacquering looks like real marble. The frame is coated gilding in 24-carat pure gold leaf, processed with the original techniques used during the 18th century. The hand-carved console table is protected by transparent shellac applied with a brush. The product is hand-crafted and lacquered in Vangelista Mobili 1960’s art laboratory, 100% made in Italy.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

During our visit to the Pisani Moretta palace – built in the 15th century – in Venice, we noticed in the hall a majestic pair of console tables with the top in green alpine marble and the golden frame inlaid. In the same time, one of our customers was looking for 2 Venetian console tables in customized dimensions for the opening of his new clothes shop so, by courtesy of the Bembo family, we retrieved all the features of the console for a faithful and perfect reproduction, took detailed pictures and traced all the shapes on plywood. Through this material, we have been able to handcraft an amazing couple of luxury console tables. Still today, this is one of the top products in our catalogue and we satisfied a lot of customers, who are deeply in love with the 18th-century Venetian furniture.
