Model Structure

The backrest of the hand-decorated chair for alpine dining rooms is shaped and curved in its section so as to make the seat very comfortable, while the central heart-shaped fretwork recalls the typicality of the seats produced in the artisan workshops of Trentino between the 1600s and the eighteenth century. Light ocher yellow in colour, the backrest is surrounded by a slight red and green border and painted inside with a vase from which green and red floral designs branch off. The legs are dark green like the seat, which appears finely decorated with yellow, pink and light green baroque and floral designs. The support legs are octagonal in shape and inclined outwards.

Raw Material

The Tyrolean heart chair is made of solid fir wood, the legs are in ash wood. Only natural products are used for the decoration and lacquering.

Manufacture

The alpine chair with heart is shaped in its external perimeter. It is important to note that both the backrest and the seat are not curved, but shaped from a solid piece of solid spruce without knots. Both the backrest and the legs are fixed to the seat by means of solid "wedge" joints. This feature makes the heart-shaped chair much appreciated by restaurants, chalets and huts since, despite its continuous use, the structure is not damaged or worn out thanks to a construction carried out in a workmanlike manner respecting the construction criteria of the ancient craftsmen of the time. The Tyrolean chair with flowers is lacquered and decorated by hand with natural products: unlike the Ampezzo decorations, in which the lacquer covers the grain of the wood, this model takes up the Trentino decorations that mix soft and bright colors. Finally, the antiquing, made with lands and patinas, gives the chair an appearance very similar to the original model of the 1600s.
