This sophisticated shaped '700 Baroque Venetian Luigi XV secretaire-trumeau with a shelf is made with two bodies: the base, with 3 drawers, and a mixtilinear flap, with a double leaf door cabinet shelf. Both sides and the front are “cross-bow” shaped, typical architectural structure from 18th century Venetian cabinetry. The precious mirrors, leaf doors and moulding are carved by hand. Inside the upper part, there is a small “castle” finely refined with some little drawers and shaped glove compartments, such as the exterior part of the secretaire-trumeau.
The internal structure is made of solid spruce wood and a veneering with 4 mm of thickness, interspersed with an elegant threaded inlay in rosewood. The upper carving and wainscotting are made of walnut wood.
The frame of the shaped 18th century Venetian secretaire-trumeau with a shelf is assembled with vertical staves glued together with hot glue. When the staves are fixed with the right inclination, they are hand-polished with planes to make the exterior part smoother. The next step is the external coating in rare woods with 4 mm of thickness and mild steel nails in order to stick the veneering on the base until the glue has completely dried. Last but not least, the elegant framework in vertical grain and the mirrors made in melted silver engraved by hand which represent Venetian noblemen of the time.
Built in the dimension 116x54x248h. (assembled with 2 base bodies + supported riser) the secretaire-trumeau is completely customizable for dimensions, type of wood and finishing.
