Model Description

Model Structure

The console, made with an essence of solid linden wood, is shaped in its lowering and lacquered in gold and silver leaf. This elegant and refined piece of furniture, built and carved by craftsmen, shows in the central band a shell, curls and perforated pilasters that recall the fashion of Venetian eighteenth century carvings.

Raw Material

The structure of this rich console is by solid lime. "Gesso Bologna", rabbit glue, gold leaf mixed with silver leaf are used for gilding. French agate stone and white beeswax characterize the polishing.

Manufacture

The console is completely handcrafted inside the art workshop and high cabinetry of the luxury brand Vangelista Mobili 1960. It is gilded with the same working methods used in the flourishing period of 1700: the “ chalk Bologna" is fixed with glue of rabbit spread with a brush, the gold leaf mixed with silver leaf is applied with a brush, polished with agate stone and protected with French white beeswax. The gilding made by hand with natural products highlights the value and excellence of this important Venetian console.

Century of use

Stately reproduction of the original artifact, the period console dates back to the first half of the 18th century and is located in the living room on the second floor of Palazzo Ca' Rezzonico in Venice.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

An American interior design, our affectionate customer, contacted us because he wanted to include in the entrance of a residence the reproduction of a very rich luxury console in 1700th Venetian style. With the kind permission of the Superintendency of Fine Arts and the Municipality of Venice, we have taken from the original console the shapes and produced detailed photographic material of all the details and carved elements. We have faithfully reproduced this splendid console in our laboratory with all the passion and pride that distinguish us. At the sight of the finished console, our client was satisfied with the excellent work and ordered 4 pieces of various sizes.
