Model Description

Model Structure

The small moved corner is structured with 1 door and 1 drawer. The front shape is arched and the piece of furniture is supported by bracket feet, also finely shaped and moved to lighten the entire structure.

Raw Material

The Venetian corner unit is made of solid spruce, with walnut veneer and inlays in walnut, Ferrarese walnut root and rosewood.

Manufacture

The shaped corner is designed, built, inlaid and polished in the Vangelista Mobili 1960 art and high-end cabinet-making workshop, the only company that makes wavy and inlaid corner pieces in Ferrarese walnut briar-root respecting the same construction methods as in the 18th century. The door and drawer are arch-shaped with 5 cm wide solid fir slats. The corner unit is smoothed with iron rasps to make it smooth and ready for veneering. The corner is hand-inlaid with noble thickness walnut of 4 mm. and has a pink wooden detachment thread (bois de rose) inside which stands out a precious Ferrarese walnut briar. The marquetry is pressed into the spruce with hot glue and mild steel tacks, which are removed after drying. Hand-polished with shellac paint applied with a brush, the precious corner unit is offered with a natural finish, which highlights the colors and veins of the precious essences.

Size of the model in the picture

The shaped and inlaid corner unit is reproduced in 2 dimensions: side 45x45x90h.- 60x60x160h.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

This corner unit fully represents the 18th century Venetian Baroque style from which it is inspired. It derives from the classic Venetian style but is enriched by exuberant and luxuriant ornaments. Many customers declare themselves satisfied with this piece of furniture for its usefulness and for the precious enrichment that can be obtained by placing it in any corner of the room. This splendid precious corner, inlaid in rare essences such as Ferrarese walnut briar and rosewood, was commissioned to us by one of our customers who, after visiting the Grimani palace, was dazzled by the piece of furniture and wanted to commission a reproduction faithful to the original. Through photographs and careful planning of hand-drawn drawings of the artifact, we were able to recreate it with special hand-drawn shapes on plywood. The passion and love for our work creates luxury furnishings that are unique in their shape and inlay.
