Model Structure

Luxury Direttorio '800 TV stand chest inlaid in precious ash wood, handcrafted and assembled with 2 side doors and a frontal door with a DVD case compartment. The external rounded corners enlighten the whole TV stand, whereas the refined base is shaped and embellished by an inlaid band on the top with the precious vertical grain. Doors and sides are inlaid and assembled by a framework. Inside, there are some adjustable shelves with a wooden rack,

Raw Material

The external structure of the Direttorio '800 TV stand chest is in precious ash wood; the plan, the inlaid doors and side panels are veneered (with a thickness of 4 mm) in ash wood, as well as the inner part. Ash is a hard and compact, with a large and visible fibre, enhanced by polishing with coatings.

Manufacture

The chest is handcrafted with original 18th-century Venetian techniques. The frame and the doors are fixed with tenon and mortise joint system. The furniture is handcrafted in one piece but we can make it detachable for big sizes. The geometric inlays on the plan, doors and sides design a pattern, with a crossed grain effect. The border has an elegant "bullnose" profile. The peculiarity of this item is the final brushing before the polishing, which enhances the porosity and chiaroscuro effects of the grain. The Direttorio '800 TV stand chest is polished with natural clays and hand antiqued by stone. The final effect is bleached straw yellow with turquoise clay coating inside the grain's pore, established by shellac and protected with yellow virgin beeswax.

Impressive model handcrafted in classic Direttorio '800 style, the original dates back to the early 18th century, from Northern Trevigiano.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

This furniture has a charming story. The original item was a sideboard cabinet with doors and drawers, retrieved from Vangelista Mobili 1960 in an old house in Vittorio Veneto. We were fascinated about the beauty and the shape of furniture, so we decided to handcraft the sideboard cabinet as a TV stand chest, with the same inlays, base, cornice and type of wood.
