Refined tub-shaped armchair, upholstered and hand-carved in eighteenth-century Venetian style. Prestigious furniture reproduced, carved and polished by hand in the Made in Italy cabinetry workshop Vangelista Mobili 1960, ideal for bedrooms, living rooms or entrances.
The tub-shaped armchair has a backrest and seat upholstered in textured white fabric. The legs are shaped and curved, sculpted like a hedgehog, a typical feature of the furnishings produced in Venetian workshops in the 1700s.
The armchair is made of solid beech wood, polished with natural products. The seat is in fine textured white fabric, with steel springs and jute straps.
The shaped and curved legs are carved by hand on the bench. The coating is done by hand with steel springs and jute belts. The armchair is hand-polished with natural products: earth powder to give it the desired shade, skilfully hand-antiqued with stone, fixed with shellac paint applied with a brush.
The tub chair is produced in the size 64x66 (depth) x 90h. Upholstery fabric and polishing can be chosen from our catalogue.
The tub armchair is reproduced from a period model dating back to the second half of the 1700s, present at the prestigious residence Palazzo Morosini Sagredo in Venice
While visiting the entrance hall of Palazzo Morosini Sagredo in Venice we were struck by four small armchairs shaped like cockpits, most likely made towards the second half of the 1700s. We took some photos and from these it is a hand-made drawing on cardboard has been obtained in order to reproduce the same shapes and carvings of this extremely refined model of armchair. Vangelista Mobili 1960 is one of the rare companies that produces art furniture with the same methods used in the Italian workshops of the 1600s and 1700s.
