Heart shaped chair made both for exclusive and prestigious mountain furnishings, and for huts, important chalets and rustic houses, hand-decorated in classic Tyrolean baroque style ‘700 with brightly colored flowers.
The back of the chair, shaped with the typical lines of Tyrolean furniture, has a heart-shaped hole in the center. The four supporting legs are worked in the shape of an inverted truncated prism. The seat is shaped and slightly concave to be more comfortable. The precious and exclusive decoration of this chair makes it a unique piece, thanks to the polychromy with bright and bubbling colors such as antique pink, yellow, crimson red and dark green. Being made on living wood, the decorations highlight the veins.
The chair for mountain huts and chalets is made of solid spruce without knots. The four supporting legs are made of solid ash, wood with a hard and impact-resistant fiber. The decorations are made with water-based tempera, for the final protection French white beeswax is used.
The boards of the heart-shaped chair, made and decorated into the Vangelista Mobili 1960 workshop, are joined together with a “comb” joint. The solid union between the backrest and the seat is made with a “pendulum” joint. The legs are engaged with the seat by means of a tenon joint. The chair for huts and chalets, unique in its handicraft production, unique in its workmanship with joints and unique in the choice of decorations, is hand painted with natural products in the front and back backrest and in the seat. The decorations depicting plant and floral motifs are fixed with transparent opaque water-based varnish (Milesi varnish) while the final protection is given with white French beeswax spread with a cotton cloth. The ancient flavor is given by the skilful patination made with gray earth powders that fade the paint along the edges.
Built in the dimension 41 × 51 depth x 89h., the Tyrolean chair for mountain huts and chalets can be made to measure for size, type of decorative subjects and polishing. There is also the possibility of finishing it naturally without decorations.
This chair is faithfully reproduced from the original piece dating back to the early 18th century, coming from the Val di Fassa area.
Visiting one of our customers who owns a historic family restaurant in Trentino Alto-Adige in the splendid Val di Fassa area, we were struck by a pair of chairs at the entrance, finely hand painted and by the classic heart shape. Given the originality of the model, we decided to reproduce it faithfully, maintaining the same construction of the legs with a pendulum joint and decorating it by hand with brightly colored flowers like the original product. Years later, this chair is still in great demand by our customers.
