Refined and luxurious large sideboard with soft lines, two-tone aquamarine green lacquer, structured with 2 doors, 2 drawers and a central secret drawer, with bronzes in the classic 18th century Venetian Baroque Louis XV style, reproduced from the original artifact located at the famous Ducal Palace in Venice.
The sideboard is shaped in the sides and in the front part like a "crossbow" with double vertical shaping, then rounded. The upper part has two large drawers and a small central drawer to be used as a secret one, assembled inside with a handmade dovetail joint. On the structure stand out the important accessories made of cast bronze on an earth mold, hot adapted to the shapes of the sideboard, polished with a cloth and perfectly reproduced by hand in Louis XV style. The frame is made of solid linden assembled with vertical slats with a double shaping, the top is made of a precious essence of solid cherry, while the interiors are of solid fir and the "mirrored" back is worked with a cross frame.. On the lower part runs a refined hand-carved cord that continues along its entire perimeter, thus lightening and embellishing the artifact. The sideboard is polished with a two-tone colour: the top in antiqued honey-colored medium cherry with brown patina, while the stem (the lower part) is lacquered and antiqued in black.
The frame (the lower part of the top) is made of solid linden wood, the top is made of a precious essence of solid cherry, the interiors are of solid fir. For the accessories, bronze cast on an earth mold was used. The aquamarine black lacquered color, not present in nature, was created in our laboratory by a mixture of natural temperas.
This important rounded sideboard reflects the typical workmanship of the Venetian "marangoni" (wood craftmen) of the seventeenth century, which used vertical linden boards 5/6 cm wide glued together to give the desired shape. It can be considered one of the best reproductions of high current cabinetmaking.
The wavy and shaped sideboard is reproduced in three sizes: 120x50x95h. – 150x55x104h. (dimension in the picture) - 170x58x104h. Being handcrafted, it can be reproduced to measure for dimensions, essences and type of finishes.
The original piece of this artifact, a refined Baroque reproduction from the mid-17th century made in the classic Louis XV style, is located in the Ducal Palace in Venice.
We wanted to reproduce the same sideboard located inside Palazzo Ducale in Venice, very complex in its wavy and rounded shape and in the reproduction of the aquamarine green colour, a tone which, not being present in nature, was composed in our laboratory with mixtures of natural elements. Only with the same working methods and the same materials of the same historical periodo it is possible to reproduce furnishings of high value and prestige, such as those that Vangelista 1960 makes in its own workshop.
