Model Description

Model Structure

The display cabinet corner unit has a single leaf door divided into 2 parts, that is the upper part in glass arranged as a glassware cupboard and the lower part made of wood. The structure is softened by refined cornices and the lower skirting is typical of classic 19-th century Direttorio style. The inside has removable wood shelves used as a bookshelf but we can arrange the furniture with glass shelves, too.

Raw Material

The single leaf door antiqued turquoise-lacquered display cabinet corner unit is made of limewood, compact wood and without knots perfect for lacquering, the leaf door is made of tempered glass and the back is wallpapered with fire resistant material with a diamond geometric beige motif. Both glass and fire resistant tissue are customizable.

Manufacture

The frame of the display cabinet corner unit is assembled with strong tenon and mortise joints. The leaf door is processed by framework, the upper part is made of glass, whereas the lower part in wood, to keep not displayed objects. The upper band is embellished by a lot of small elegant and refined cornices to soften the structure, as well as the lower clog in typical classic Venetian 19-th century Direttorio style. The inner adjustable shelves in solid wood are perfect for a bookshelf. The display cabinet is lacquered in turquoise and antiqued by stone, coated with black clay powder which penetrates in the depressions and cornices for an old-fashioned look. The lacquering is established with acrylic paint and final protection with French virgin white beeswax spread with a soft cotton cloth. The elegant keyhole cover is made of bronze poured in casting moulds, hand-chiselled and polished as the original furniture. The classic 19-th century Direttorio style corner unit is hand-crafted and lacquered in Vangelista Mobili 1960’s art laboratory.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

During our trip to the amazing Cittanova palace in Cremona, we noticed the original display cabinet corner unit in classic 19-th century Direttorio style, inside the former notarial saloon – now used for manifestations and conferences – and we were impressed by the original and elegant structure of the cornices. We decided to reproduce the furniture maintaining the same features and we used a turquoise lacquering strongly demanded by our customers.
