Round table inlaid in poplar briar produced by hand and Biedermeier style black two-tone lacquer, built in large dimensions with shaped support legs, suitable for large halls and dining rooms of prestigious residences and luxurious homes. Handmade furniture by Vangelista 1960, 100% made in Italy.
The luxury round table inlaid in poplar briar has the top supported by a band that surrounds its perimeter, 4 elegant shaped legs that support the piece of furniture resting on a "spokes"-shaped base and 4 square supports that raise the base.
The table is built in all its internal parts in solid linden wood, the veneer that covers the whole piece of furniture is in rare and highly prized poplar briar.
The inside of the top is made of lime wood with a 3-layer crossed grain, that preserves stability over time and keeps a perfect straight shape. The legs are fastened to the legs with strong tongue and groove joints. The bands, the legs and the base are retrieved from a piece of solid lime wood. The next, and a more complicated step is the carving; the top is inlaid with a thickness of 3 mm in birch poplar and processed in 4 symmetrical parts to obtain an amazing pattern with grains. The bands, the legs (veneered on all 4 sides) and the base are built with the same working process. The legs are s-shaped with a final curly part, as the furniture in vogue in the mid-19th century for Austrian furniture. The table is embellished by a refined inlaid thread in exotic ebony wood (dark) which surrounds all the edges along the outline. The inlaid thread is enhanced by the light birch root. Hand-polished with natural products – natural powder clays glossy light honey colour – for the right shade, established by shellac applied with a brush, glossy finishing with straw yellow oil and pumice stone applied with a soft cotton cloth (9 passages). The finishing with a wick is a technique dating back to the early 18th century and enhances the grain of the root. The round Biedermeier table inlaid in birch root is built, inlaid and hand-polished in Vangelista Mobili 1960’s art laboratory, 100% made in Italy.
Built in 2 big sizes Ø 150x78h. - Ø 180x78h., the table is completely hand-crafted and customizable for dimensions, type of wood and polishing.
The original round Biedermeier table inlaid in birch poplar dates back to the first half of the 19th century.
Six years ago, during a trip in Vienna to buy some antique furnishings at the famous auction house Dorotheum, we noticed an original round Biedermeier table on sale. We were impressed by its refined lines, the birch root and the warm polishing so we decided to buy the table and took it to our laboratory to retrieve all the dimensions, trace the shape of the legs and make technical dimensional drawings with all details for a perfect reproduction. Given the difficulty to find the precious birch poplar, we were very satisfied to build an exclusive and unique. After seeing the finished product, our customers asked us to reproduce it in different dimensions for living rooms in their precious houses. Building this table from an original furniture make our company one of the new businesses, if not the only, to hand-craft Biedermeier style luxury customizable furniture, the real expression made in Italy.
