The base of this rounded '700 Venetian Rococò Luigi XV secretaire-trumeau with a flap has 2 drawers supported by 4 curved feet carved by hand. Within the shaped flap, there is a small “castle” with a compartment and some tiny drawers; the flap i salso enriched by 2 “secrets”. There is a shelf with two central doors and mirrors engraved on silver sheets, whereas the interior part is fitted with drawers and small compartments identical to the original. The structure of the secretaire-trumeau is complex, shaped on the side and in the front. The arch-shaped frame is carved by hand and enriched by a manual incision.
The rounded '700 Venetian Rococò Luigi XV secretaire-trumeau with a flap is made of the same type of woods used in 18th century: the framework is built from soft spruce wood and coated in “ferrarese” walnut burl, enriched by a inlaid thread in boxwood. The frames and the supporting legs are made of solid walnut.
The rounded '700 Venetian Rococò Luigi XV secretaire-trumeau with a flap has a structure consisting of vertical axes put together to get the rounded shape and smoothed with rasps and planes on the surface; Veneering in fine woods such as walnut and walnut-root, with a thickness of 4 mm and enriched by exotic wood inlays, like the original secretaire-trumeau. Ladies and gentlemen are hand-engraved in melted silver by artistic glassmaking firm Salir in Murano – Venezia, on shelf shutters’ mirrors. The moulding is carved by hand and lacquered in antiqued gold leaf, whereas the polishing is made with water based top coats, in order to achieve the right colour, established by shellac applied with a brush. Handles and pommels are made of bronze poured in casting moulds and reproduced from the original secretaire-trumeau.

We wanted to pay tribute to manual and creative skills of 18th-century Venetian artisans, the “marangoni”, who expressed their artistry in making stunning pieces ordered by Venetian noblemen.
