The exclusivity of this wonderful revolving bookcase is given by the possibility of rotating it by means of a solid ball mechanism. Thanks to this feature, the bookcase is very comfortable and useful for those who work in the studio or can be pleasantly placed in the living room as a bottle holder behind the sofa. Made with the top covered in real cowhide art. 117.
The rigid shape of the octagonal section bookcase is broken by the refinement of the lines of the lower part, with a turned support leg supported by 4 shaped "spoke" legs. The bookcase is equipped with 4 compartments that can act as book holders or bottle holders, detached from a central divider embellished with an elegant box frame. The top is inlaid with a rare and precious olive essence fillet.
The revolving octagonal bookcase is produced in all its parts in solid walnut essence. The top is veneered in walnut with a thickness of 4mm, enriched by an inlay in rare and noble olive wood.
Production furniture made in Italy, designed, produced and polished by hand in the Vangelista 1960 high cabinet-making laboratory. The original revolving bookcase is an artisanal product made with ancient processes and criteria and its revolving structure, very robust, can withstand considerable weights. The exclusive polishing carried out by hand with natural products increases the value and importance of the artefact, treated following the Farsetti method. This process, the same one used in the Venetian workshops of the second half of the 1600s, highlights the warm grain of the walnut essences and the chromaticity of the splendid olive wood. The same model was produced with the top covered in real cowhide, art. 117, and circular in shape. An engraved brass plate is applied to the bookcase, guaranteeing that the product is made by the Vangelista 1960 brand and a handwritten certificate is attached which attests and describes the quality of the product, the materials and the checks carried out, as well as guaranteeing exclusivity of every single creation. The sideboard bookcase is finally hand-packed to perfection and delivered to the customer with maximum protection.
The singular revolving bookcase handmade in the Vangelista 1960 high cabinet-making workshop is produced in 2 sizes: -small (as per photo): 76 diagonal x82h. -big: 90 diagonal x 82h. It can be customized in terms of size, quality of essence and type of polishing.
The revolving octagonal bookcase is reproduced from the period model dating back to the second half of the 19th century and coming from the Treviso area. The style of the lines and the use of precious essences leads back to the typical Louis Philippe and Directoire 19th century style.
Visiting the prestigious seventeenth-century residence Villa Tiepolo in Carbonera, in the splendid province of Treviso, we were struck by an octagonal-shaped revolving bookcase dating back to the mid-1800s and visibly worn by time. Courtesy of the Ville Venete association, we managed to recover all the construction characteristics of the artefact and create the detailed photographic material for its production. Within our high-end cabinet-making laboratory we subsequently produced the templates and created the dimensioned technical drawing. Since its first production, the exclusive octagonal revolving bookcase has received such a large number of requests that we decided to also create it in a circular version and with an olive wood inlaid top.
