Introduction

Luxurious 3 drawers dresser in classic Baroque style ‘700 Venetian Louis XIV with walnut legs carved by hand.

Model Description

Model Structure

This superb reproduction has 3 drawers and is supported by 4 hand-carved legs. The chest of drawers is shaped in both the front and the sides thanks to the processing of the staves, glued together after having been worked according to the desired shape. The cabinet is finely inlaid with precious (walnut, cherrywood, rosewood, ebony) and rare woods (zebrano and walnut briar). The Ferrarese walnut root is worked in the central parts with "open stain" and the inlays, which represent baroque motifs, are hand-veneered with a thickness of 4 mm. The supports and the lower part are carved by hand on solid walnut wood. The complex precision and laborious construction of the inlays make this dresser an exclusive and inimitable piece.

Raw Material

The entire internal structure is made of solid spruce wood, the exterior is covered with a veneer in exquisite precious and rare woods of walnut, cherrywood, ebony, rosewood, zebrano and walnut root for the inlays. The lower parts are made of solid walnut.

Manufacture

The chest of drawers is an art cabinet of high cabinet making, built, inlaid and polished by hand in our workshop. The wavy shape is given by vertical slats (axes) of shaped fir glued together to obtain the desired profile. The most elaborate part is given by the veneering of the inlays, made by hand with complex drawings that represent Baroque motifs in rare and precious exotic essences. The "open stain" processing of the walnut root and the carvings of the supports carried out by hand on solid walnut wood are worked according to the typical process of high cabinet-making of the Venetian artisan workshops of the 1700s.

Size of the model in the picture

The chest of drawers is reproduced in two dimensions: 115x48x100h and 126x53x105h. Being built and inlaid by hand in our workshop, it is customizable by size and type of polishing. For this purpose, we also give our clients the opportunity to view the rough dresser, in order to customize the polishing and the kind of handles.
