Description Model

Original Tyrolean 2-door wardrobe with wrought iron hinges, ivory lacquer, and hand-painted stylized flowers. Reproduced from a 17th-century model dating back to the second half of the 1600s, in Tyrolean Baroque style, handcrafted in the artisanal workshops of Val Rendena.

MODEL STRUCTURE

The pantry wardrobe is custom-made with 2 doors. The body is supported by four tall, shaped feet. The interior features 3 adjustable shelves on rack-style supports, ideal for use as a pantry. The shaped feet reflect the traditional craftsmanship of Tyrolean furniture from the first half of the 17th century.

RAW MATERIAL

The pantry wardrobe is made of solid fir wood, a type of wood traditionally used in 18th-century Venetian workshops for furniture intended for lacquer finishes. The hinges, internal door latch, and lock are made of wrought iron, forged by hand at high temperature: they have no welds and are hand-stamped while hot.

THE PROCESSINGS

The body structure is assembled using “tenon and mortise” joints. The doors and sides are made of three-layer fir wood, a solution that ensures long-term stability and durability against humidity and excessively dry environments. The cornice of the top molding features a finely shaped arch section, enriched with an elegant carved lower trim. The doors follow the same shaping. This Tyrolean pantry wardrobe, an authentic Made in Italy piece custom-made for mountain homes, stands out for the complexity and quality of its entirely hand-painted decorations. The base color is ivory/beige, while the decorations feature stylized flower vases on a white background, enhanced with Baroque motifs in blue-gray. The decorations are executed following the techniques of the Trentino workshops of the late 17th century, with a ground prepared using polished Bologna gesso applied with a brush. The sides are adorned with refined geometric motifs, while the front frame is highlighted by polychrome floral decorations. The patina, created with brown earth powders, gives it an antique look, very close to the original model.

History Model

CENTURY OF USE

The original model from which this wardrobe is derived dates back to the second half of the 17th century, a period when Tyrolean furniture stood out for the refinement of Baroque forms and the meticulous craftsmanship of its details.

HISTORICAL NOTES AND CURIOSITIES OF MOBILE

The original model of this Tyrolean wardrobe dates back to the second half of the 17th century and is inspired by a piece preserved in an ancient castle in the region. Its dimensions, shapes, and decorations have been faithfully reproduced from the historic model, respecting every artisanal detail. The original piece was made of solid fir wood, a type of timber commonly used in the workshops of the time, ideal for lacquer finishes and hand-painted decorations. The hinges, latches, and locks were hand-forged by local blacksmiths and hand-stamped, without any welding, ensuring authenticity and durability. Each door, foot, and frame was carefully shaped by hand, while the decorations featured mountain life scenes, floral motifs, and geometric patterns, applied over a ground prepared with polished Bologna gesso and finished with natural colors. Today, this model is custom-made and hand-decorated in the Vangelista 1960 high-end cabinetry workshop, keeping the Tyrolean workshop tradition alive and combining craftsmanship, passion for wood, and historical fidelity to the original castle model.
