Precious hand-decorated 18th-century Baroque Tyrolean cupboard with shaped doors, important reproduction from the original cupboard dating back to the beginning of the 18th century. The paintings and the shape are typical of craftsmanship of the furnishing produced in Val di Fassa.
The precious cupboard is "arch-shaped" on the top, the doors are assembled with a framework to give the furniture a higher value and it is arranged with 2 doors and 2 drawers in the lower part. The refined notching on the corners softens the look and the shape. The frame is supported by 4 hand-turned shaped legs with a diameter proportionate to the cupboard's structure, divided by the framework with a softly shaped cyma cornice. This hand-painted shaped cupboards with 2 doors is hand-crafted with tenon and mortise, strong joints which keep together all the structure. The inside is arranged with clothes stand and a removable shelf.
The precious cupboard is completely made of solid spruce wood, which is soft and compact, easy to process - so it is perfect for shaping - and resistant to atmospheric phenomena like moisture. Last but not least, the solid spruce wood is often used to handcraft Tyrolean furnishings for mountain houses.
The doors are processed with a framework and divided by 2 central panelings surrounded by a diamond outline. The shape is notched on the sides amd supported by 4 shaped and hand-turned legs. The doors have the same refined arch-shaped pattern as the cornice. The importance and beauty of the cupboard is given by the brilliance of the lacquer that enhances the strong chromaticism of the green and Avio blue colour, whereas yellow is enhanced by the doors' moulding (diamond woodprocessing), the cornice, the skirting and the central decoration of the baroque. The inside of drawers is assembled with dovetail joints and solid back diamond-processed. Lacquered in polychromy, the meticulous and detailed coating with powder clays and the ageing which highlights the grain of the solid spruce wood, make the cupboard a product of high value. The decorations are painted with some fine brushes and show scenes of mountain daily life dating back to the early 18th-century, the 2 panelings of the bottom doors are decorated with a beautiful bunch of flowers, typical of the luxury furnishings built in the workshops in Val di Fassa, in Trentino Alto-Adige.
