Model Description

Model Structure

The structure's slender shape is elegant thanks to the notched corners. The large cornice on top is made with an apposite steel milling machine, built with the same shape as the original. The doors and the sides are assembled with a "Venetian" framework, typical of craftsmen from Belluno, and divided by a big central band to insert decorations. The frame is assembled with mortise and tenon joints. The outer clog is finely moulded. The inner part is divided in 2 vertical compartments arranged with adjustable shelves and a wooden rack. The internal locks are made with vertical axes, for a tight closing. Since the cupboard is very big, the structure is detachable. The furniture is hand-planed.

Raw Material

The framework, the bands of the doors and the side, the cornice and the clog of the hand-painted Ampezzano style double leaf door cupboard are made of evaporated solid spruce wood (with this special treatment we put the wood in special ovens and it is treated with salt-based steams, which give the furniture an old-fashioned look).

Manufacture

The decorations of this Hand-painted Ampezzano style double leaf door cupboard are completely hand-painted with water-based temperas. The main features of this cupboard are the paintings on ancient wood. On the sides' panels and the central bands of the 2 doors are decorated with English green geometric patterns and enriched by a soft salmon nuance. The clog and the cornice on the top are English green, too. The important and precious decorations of the doors, on which we have reproduced typical landscapes of Belluno and romantic scenes dating back to the second half of the 18th century, have an emotional impact on the viewer. The decorations are established by a natural water-based paint applied with a brush. Last, but not least, we apply the yellow virgin (95%) beeswax on all the cupboard. The furniture is completely handcrafted in our art laboratory. The refined decorations and mountain patterns make this cupboard unique, as all Vangelista Mobili 1960's products.
