Important reproduction of a round extendable table inlaid in walnut with carved leg. The elegance of the stylistic system takes up the typical form of English furnishings between the classic Victorian and Louis Philippe style of the mid-1800s. The circular table is an ideal luxury piece of furniture for important dining rooms and entrances and can also be inserted perfectly in contexts of contemporary and modern furniture thanks to its stylistic uniqueness.
The round table top is supported by a massive central leg turned and fluted by hand, which in turn is supported by 4 shaped and carved "spoke" legs. The top is veneered and surrounded by an inlaid fillet that divides the central processing in the shape of an "orange wedge". The edge of the top is also surrounded by a molded profile with a "throat and a bull". The top opens in the central part and extends outwards by means of a system of sliding guides in hard oak wood.
The top and the extensions are inlaid in walnut in the external frame, divided by a refined inlay in precious olive wood. The center of the table and the extensions are inlaid with a splendid walnut feather whose characteristic veins create a unique visual effect. The contour band under the top is veneered in walnut with vertical grain, the turned leg and the support legs are carved in solid walnut.
The circular table is designed, built, inlaid and polished by hand in the Vangelista Mobili 1960 high cabinet-making workshop. The robust workmanship of the extension system is made with artisan criteria that guarantee the maximum solidity to the Victorian English table in its maximum opening. Polished by hand with natural products and painted with earth powders in brown walnut tones, the round Luigi Filippo table is lightly antiqued by hand and fixed with shellac paint applied with a brush following the Farsetti method, which involves 22 swabs which the grain of the walnut, the inlay of the precious walnut feather and the transparency of the olive tree stand out to the maximum. Starting from the shape of the original model of the table, we have reproduced the milling cutter in mild steel in our laboratory. The table top is veneered with a thickness of 3 mm.
