MODEL STRUCTURE

Two-door Tyrolean pantry wardrobe, featuring tall shaped legs and a molded cornice. Interior with 4 adjustable shelves, hand-painted door with floral motifs, and decorated side pillars. Perfect for mountain homes and Alpine-style interiors.

RAW MATERIAL

The pantry wardrobe is made of solid fir, the wood most commonly used in 17th- and 18th-century Trentino craft workshops for Tyrolean-style lacquered furniture. An authentic material that ensures quality, durability, and the charm of Alpine tradition.

THE PROCESSINGS

The single-door Tyrolean wardrobe is built, decorated, and finished in the Vangelista Mobili 1960 artisan workshop, using the same traditional techniques employed in Trentino craft workshops of the 17th and 18th centuries. The front features a framed structure with wide vertical side pillars designed to accommodate rich and detailed decorations. The hinges and lock are hand-forged in hot iron, crafted without welding, hand-punched, and faithfully reproduced from original 17th-century models. The most intricate part of the process is the decoration, inspired by a historic model from the scenic Valle Aurina. The wardrobe is lacquered in soft light blue and enhanced with hand-painted worn yellow decorations, featuring floral motifs and polychrome details. The entire finish is executed with natural products on a gently worn gypsum-and-lime base to achieve an authentic antique effect.

MODEL DIMENSION IN THE PHOTO

Reproduced in the impressive dimensions of 105×44×175 cm, this corner cabinet commands attention while retaining the refined elegance of Alpine Baroque tradition.

HISTORICAL NOTES AND CURIOSITIES OF MOBILE

The Tyrolean wardrobe that inspired this model comes from the Valle Aurina, one of the oldest valleys in historic Tyrol, renowned for its artisanal tradition dating back to the 17th century. The original piece, dating from the mid-1600s, was kept in a wealthy farmhouse near Cadipietra, where lacquered and decorated furniture represented a status symbol for the most affluent families of the time. According to parish archives, the wardrobe was commissioned for an important wedding and crafted by a local master carpenter known as “Mastro Leonhard aus dem Ahrntal”, one of the most skilled artisans of the area. The original decoration, in green and red tones, combined geometric, Baroque, and auspicious symbols intended to protect the home and celebrate the prosperity of the new family. Made of solid fir and painted with natural tempera, these pieces are a perfect example of 17th-century Alpine craftsmanship: rich, symbolic, and deeply connected to the local territory. Our artisanal reinterpretation preserves the same spirit, faithfully reproducing the Tyrolean decorative tradition using entirely handcrafted techniques.
