The centre room desk inlaid in burr walnut with 3 drawers and 2 doors in Venetian Luigi Filippo style is veneered on solid spruce wood. The inside is in crossed spruce wood (3 layers glued together to keep stability over time) whereas the desk, the sides, the front and the doors are coated with a precious walnut 4 mm thick. (The veneered coating is the added value that makes this desk even more precious), the legs are made of walnut wood and sabre shaped by hand in the final part. The 3 central drawers and the band which surrounds all the outline under the desktop are in precious walnut and “s” shaped, for a sophisticated look. The inlay on the desktop’s silhouette, on the drawers and on the doors made of white maple and pinkish rosewood cut in 45 degrees in our laboratory give a strong visual impact. The back of the desk has the lower perimeter shaped. Polished with techniques in vogue during the 18th century, natural clays dissolved in water for the right colour, slightly antiqued with stone for a worn aspect, established by shellac applied with a brush. The final protection with a swab is made with straw-yellow oil and powder of pumice stone, from 11 to 15 circular movements; this process gives a glossy appearance to the desk and enhances the warm chromatism of walnut. The ring handles and the keyhole covers are made of bronze poured in casting moulds, hand chiselled and reproduced from the original Venetian Luigi Filippo style.
