Introduction

Description Model

Small desk produced and inlaid by hand with precious walnut woods and walnut feather, with widely shaped side legs in 19th century Empire and Directoire style .The aesthetic refinement and the line of the small desk recall the stylistic characteristics of the luxury furnishings produced in the Venetian artisan workshops between the end of the 1700s and the beginning of the 19th century. This small desk fits well into small studios and halls or prestigious dining rooms as a back sofa.

MODEL STRUCTURE

This rare rectangular Empire style writing desk is equipped with an extractable tablet for reading and writing and a large secret drawer. The side legs are very shaped and being conceived for the center of the room, the inlaid table is finished on the four sides.

RAW MATERIAL

The small luxury writing desk in solid fir wood is veneered with precious woods such as walnut and walnut feather. The legs are in solid walnut. Polishing is done only with natural products.

THE PROCESSINGS

The writing table for entrance halls and prestigious living rooms, hand-polished with shellac varnish, is made in the Venetian workshop Vangelista Mobili 1960. This work of art has symmetrical veining in the centres, a sign of attention and importance given to details, but its exclusivity is given by the processing of the legs themselves, not curved but shaped and obtained from a piece of solid walnut. As in use in Venetian manufacturing in the 1700s, the thickness of the inlays is 4 mm and the writing table is hand-polished with natural products: earth powder that gives the desired shade, fixed with alcohol-based shellac varnish applied with a brush, protected with turpentine-based virgin beeswax applied with a soft cotton cloth.

MODEL DIMENSION IN THE PHOTO

The small desk is produced in the 75x51x77h dimension. Being a piece of furniture reproduced by hand, it can be made to measure in terms of dimensions, quality of essences and type of polishing.
