RAW MATERIAL

The whole external structure is in solid walnut, the interiors in solid linden wood. The handles and keys are made of brass.

THE PROCESSINGS

This luxury furniture has been designed, built and polished by hand in the high cabinetry workshop of the Vangelista Mobili 1960 brand, and is 100% made in Italy. It should be noted that the inlaid sideboard is polished in natural essence, to highlight the warm chromaticity of the national walnut. The polish was then fixed with transparent shellac varnish and protected with 96% virgin yellow beeswax. Accessories such as handles and keys are in hand-chiseled bronze and cast on an earth mold, reproduced from the original artifact. Of the same model we have created a two-tone antique white lacquered sideboard (ART. 332)

MODEL DIMENSION IN THE PHOTO

The inlaid Empire style sideboard is produced in the size 145x48x106h.

History Model

CENTURY OF USE

The sobriety of the lines and the originality of the finish bring this graceful sideboard back to the Empire style: it is a Neoclassical style, which incorporates the straight lines of its surfaces and many decorative elements such as columns and capitals from classical antiquities. The Empire style is linked to Napoleon. In fact, it was Napoleon who wanted a style that was the image of his power and that recalled the great empires of the past. The most popular piece of furniture of this style was the chest of drawers. The reproduction of the sideboard refers to an original piece of the nineteenth century which is located in Ivrea, in Piedmont.

HISTORICAL NOTES AND CURIOSITIES OF MOBILE

The history of the construction of this art sideboard is very curious. A few years ago one of our antiquarian customers came to our office with a photo of an original Empire-style sideboard dating back to the early 1800s, requested by one of his customers. Given the impossibility of finding the authentic piece, he commissioned us this fine custom-made handcrafted sideboard. He wanted to polish it in a natural finish, with the grain and chromaticity that mirrored the natural wood. The sideboard has been inserted in a contemporary furnishing context, where the uniqueness of the piece is strongly emphasized.
