Elegant and important bedside round cabinet inlaid in walnut briar root with hand-carved legs in the shape of a “swan” resting on a base with three spokes. Made with 3 drawers, it is enriched by a thread inlaid in maple wood. Complicated luxury furniture made in Italy built for important living rooms and entrances of prestigious residences and luxury homes.
The top and the shaft of circular shape are made internally in solid spruce assembled with vertical slats, externally inlaid with a veneer in Ferrarese walnut briar of a thickness of 3 mm. The cabinet is equipped with 3 drawers and enriched by an inlaid thread in maple wood. The 3 supporting legs representing 3 swans are made of solid walnut, shaped and carved by hand, resting on a 3 "spokes" base, always veneered in walnut with the veining prepared in an “orange slice”.
In the reproduction of the original model, solid spruce was used inside the top and of the stem, a 3 mm Ferrarese walnut briar for the veneer and maple for the inlaid embellishment thread. The legs are in solid walnut, the support base is veneered in walnut.
The complicated construction of this bedside table can be considered among the best examples of handcrafted reproduction of the late eighteenth-century Venetian baroque style. The originality of the table is also given by the shape of the 3 hand carved legs, shaped and perforated in the shape of a swan, respecting the same working methods used in the Venetian shops of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Its construction, inlay and carving are made within our workshop of high cabinetmaking Vangelista Mobili 1960.
The round bedside table is made in the sizes Ø 40x79h. Being a handmade product it can be reproduced according to size and type of polishing.
The original piece of furniture is dated between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century.
The original artifact is located inside the prestigious Palazzo Grimani in Venice. We made the same model with the legs lacquered in gold leaf (art. 270).
