Sophisticated and luxurious large sideboard with soft lines, two-colored aquamarine green lacquered, structured with 2 doors, 2 drawers and a secret central drawer, with bronzes in the classical Venetian Baroque style XVII Louis XV. Reproduced from the period artefact from the prestigious Palazzo Ducale in Venice.
MODEL STRUCTURE
The sideboard is shaped in the sides and in the front part in the shape of a “crossbow” with double vertical shaping, therefore rounded. The upper part has two large drawers and a small central drawer that acts as a secret, assembled inside with a handmade dovetail joint. On the structure stand out the important accessories made of cast bronze on an earthen mold, adapted to the shape of the sideboard, polished to cloth and perfectly reproduced by hand in Louis XV style. The frame is made of solid linden assembled with vertical slats with a double shaping, the top is made with a precious essence of solid cherry, while the interiors are in solid spruce. On the lower part runs a refined hand-carved string that continues along its entire perimeter, thus lightening and embellishing the artifact. The sideboard is polished with a two-tone finish: the cherry top is honey-colored with brown patina, while the frame is lacquered and antiqued in aquamarine tones.
RAW MATERIAL
The frame (the lower part of the top) is made of solid lime wood, the top is made with a precious essence of solid cherry, the interiors are in solid spruce. For the accessories, cast bronze was used on an earth mold. The aquamarine green color, not present in nature, was composed in our laboratory by means of a mixture of natural tempera.
THE PROCESSINGS
This important curved sideboard reflects the typical workmanship of the Venetian “marangoni” of the seventeenth century, which used vertical boards of 5/6 cm wide linden glued together to give it the desired shape. It can be considered one of the best reproductions of high modern cabinetry.
MODEL DIMENSION IN THE PHOTO
The moved and shaped sideboard is reproduced in two sizes: 150x55x104h. and 170x58x104h. Being handcrafted, it can be reproduced to measure for dimensions, essences and types of finishes.
History Model
CENTURY OF USE
The original of this artifact, a refined mid-seventeenth-century Baroque reproduction in the classic Louis XV style, is located at the Palazzo Ducale in Venice.
HISTORICAL NOTES AND CURIOSITIES OF MOBILE
We wanted to reproduce the same sideboard found inside Palazzo Ducale in Venice, very complex in its rounded shape and in the reproduction of the aquamarine green color, a shade that, not being present in nature, was composed inside our laboratory with mixtures of natural tempera. Only with the same working methods and materials of the time is possible to reproduce furnishings of high value , such as those realized by Vangelista Mobili 1960 within its artisan workshop.
