Crafted from rare Ferrara walnut burl, this piece features a finely shaped front with three drawers and exquisite handmade inlays. This elegant chest is a faithful reproduction of the original in 18th-century Lombardo-Venetian style, Luigi XIV, perfect for prestigious interiors and high-end furnishings.
MODEL STRUCTURE
The internal structure of this chest of drawers is made of solid fir wood, assembled with original planks and hand-sanded to achieve the shaped and mistilinear front. The top is then veneered with a 4 mm thick layer and enriched with inlays in walnut, Ferrara walnut burl, and accents of maple and rosewood. The frames are crafted in solid walnut with vertical grain, enhancing the piece’s elegance and value. The legs are carved from a single block of walnut in the style of classic ferine-style feet, showcasing exceptional handcrafted artistry.
RAW MATERIAL
The drawer interiors are made of solid fir wood, while the exterior is crafted in walnut and Ferrara walnut burl. The frames and legs are made of veneered solid walnut, resulting in a piece of exceptional artisanal quality and elegance.
THE PROCESSINGS
The chest of drawers is crafted from solid fir wood, with horizontal planks glued together (slats) and shaped to achieve the characteristic mistilinear form.
It is then veneered with hand-inlaid walnut and rare Ferrara walnut burl, enhanced with maple and rosewood inlay accents. The frames are made of solid walnut with vertical grain, adding elegance and artisanal value. The piece stands on four solid walnut legs, hand-carved in the classic ferine style, following the tradition of high-end cabinetmaking.
It is finished in a refined gray whitewash, hand-aged with patinated stone and colored with natural earth pigments in gray tones. The surface is finally protected with pure beeswax, highlighting the depth of the color and providing a luxurious handcrafted finish.

HISTORICAL NOTES AND CURIOSITIES OF MOBILE
The story of this luxury chest of drawers began many years ago, when a renowned Lombard antique dealer entrusted us with the restoration of an 18th-century original piece. Captivated by its beauty, the harmony of its shapes, and the uniqueness of its carvings, we decided to study it in depth. We created a detailed technical drawing, collected extensive photographic documentation, and analyzed every detail: inlays, veneers, carvings, wood grain, and all construction techniques used in the 18th century. Thanks to this meticulous research and the skill of our artisans, we are now able to faithfully reproduce this high-value piece, preserving the charm and authenticity of the original 18th-century design.
