Double leaf door hand-decorated luxury ‘700 baroque Tyrolean cupboard for mountain furninshing. The frame and the magnificent decorations are typical mid-17th century.

MODEL STRUCTURE ​

The elaborated upper frame is typical of furniture from Trentino and it is well-proportioned with the size of the cupboard. The 2 leaves door frame is notched on the external side and it is supported by shaped legs. Inside the cupboard, there are 2 removable shelves and a clothes hanger in the upper part and the back is manufactured with a solid spruce cross framework, processed with an “internal dressing”. The big hinges and the snap lock are made of hot-forged iron and draw attention to the shapes and features of this double leaf door hand-decorated luxury ‘700 baroque Tyrolean cupboard.

RAW MATERIAL

The cupboard is completely made of three crossed layers in solid spruce, in order to avoid dilatations and structural variations over time.

THE PROCESSINGS

This double leaf door hand-decorated luxury ‘700 baroque Tyrolean cupboard is one of the most elaborated items in our catalogue. Lacquered in polychromy wuth consumed gesso Bologna, to give this an old-wood character to the cupboard. Hand-painted with water temperas, the panelings of the 2 big doors are decorated with flower vases and the avio framework is surrounded by elegant beige decorations. The faux marble lacquering, bordered by a pitch-black and ivory thread, enhances the sides. Under the upper frame there is a decoration with a Tyrolean pattern, repeated in the metope and mountain ceiling trusses.

This is an elegant and sophisticated cupboard reproduction in baroque Tyrolean first-half of the 17-th century style, from Val di Mezzo.

HISTORICAL NOTES AND CURIOSITIES OF MOBILE

The original elegant cupboard is in Wolfsthurn Castle in Trentino-Alto Adige, with various furniture from 16th to 18th century. The Sternbahs, the current owners of the property recently opened a museum for visitors. Thanks to the stunning beauty and the refined decorations, this is one of the most exclusive double leaf door hand-decorated luxury ‘700 baroque Tyrolean.
