Majestic and refined secretaire-trumeau of big size, reproduced by hand in Baroque Venetian Luigi XVI style. High quality handmade furniture 100% Made in Italy.
MODEL STRUCTURE
This majestic and refined secretaire-trumeau of big size has a base with 3 drawers and a flap, both sides are shaped in double-centering and shrink towards the central part, also shaped with 3 drawers. On the sides, 2 finely shaped slides enclose the mixtilinear flap, which holds inside a “castle” arranged with drawers and compartments papers or documents. 8 hidden compartments make this secretaire-trumeau unique. The upper part has the same design as the lower part, with 2 mixtilinear doors. On the inside, there is a big “castle” composed of some little drawers, finely shaped and inlaid compartments with a walnut veneering, Ferrara walnut and exotic threads in ebony and rosewood. The moulding is processed with molded frames in precious walnut with the most valuable vertical grain.
RAW MATERIAL
The majestic and refined secretaire-trumeau of big size is made of solid spruce wood, excellent for the veneering, and it is coated on the outside with walnut and Ferrara walnut root. The inlay is in bois de rose, an exotic wood.
THE PROCESSINGS
This majestic and refined secretaire-trumeau of big size is produced with the same techniques in use in 17th and 18th centuries. Its structure consists of vertical axes put together to get the right shape. The following step is the external smoothing of solid spruce wood axes, to make the surface plain and rounded. The external covering by hand is laborious: the frame is fixed by natural hot glue and iron nails by hand with a small hammer and turned towards the board until the glue has dried and fixed the veneering in the secretaire-trumeau. Then, there is the final external smoothing by hand with abrasive papers and the polishing made of natural water-based temperas, established by shellac applied with a brush. Possible holes or cracks in the root are repaired with a natural water-based plaster walnut-coloured. The secretaire-trumeau is protected by beeswax 95%, so that the furniture is shiny and warm, thanks to beautiful grains and chromaticism of rare woods. Handles and pommels are made of bronze poured in casting moulds with lost-wax casting, antiqued and polished by hand.

HISTORICAL NOTES AND CURIOSITIES OF MOBILE
The original majestic and refined secretaire-trumeau of big size is in Cà Rezzonico palace, Venice, where a lot of parties and ceremonies were held. The details, like removable boards in the upper part under the central doors, are a faithful reproduction. In the 18th century, the chandeliers were placed on the boards, reflecting light into the mirrors and enlighten the hall. This piece of furniture is 100% Made in Italy and completely hand-crafted in our laboratory, keeping the original features.
