Small sideboard in classic Venetian style Louis XIV, shaped like a crossbow and hand painted with important chinoiserie decorations with scenes of oriental life and decorations in gold leaf embossed in pad.
The structure has 2 doors in the shape of a "crossbow" and is supported by 4 elegant and refined saber-shaped legs, joined by a finely shaped apron.
The sideboard is reproduced with solid linden wood. The interiors are made of fir wood.
The original and complex shape of the structure of the doors goes back to the high craftsmanship of the seventeenth century: they are mounted with vertical staves (axes) of a width not exceeding 5/6 cm, glued together to give them the desired shape. The 4 legs that support the dresser are finely shaped like a saber in the lower part, so as not to weigh down the stylistic layout of the piece of furniture. The interiors are set up with 2 removable and adjustable shelves with wooden rack. The sideboard is hand-lacquered with natural tempera in a China red shade, with a base of preparation in Bologna plaster, a mixture of water, lime and Marseille plaster and is coated with brown earth powders. The most important work is represented by the decorations: the doors, the top and the sides are decorated with two important and rich scenes of oriental life dating back to the time of the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD). The decorations are fixed with transparent shellac paint spread with a brush. The particular decoration and lacquering done by hand make this artifact a furniture of high craftsmanship, synonymous of luxury furniture made by hand and produced in Italy in our laboratory. This sideboard is a unique piece of the highest artistic level, part of that type of furniture that can be viewed in prestigious European palaces and palaces.
The sideboard is reproduced in the 105x54x97h size. Being a luxury handcrafted furniture, made and decorated by hand, it is reproducible to size, type of tone and decorative subjects.
This sideboard is a highly valuable Venetian-style furniture in the Louis XIV Venetian style, reproduced to measure from the period model dating back to the first half of the 1600s, which is currently housed in a private collection.
A few months ago, one of our affectionate antiquarian customers brought the original model of this important shaped sideboard, decorated with chinoiserie, to our laboratory for a restoration. At the sight we were ecstatic with so much artisan beauty, and being this furniture a particularly rare and precious piece, we did not hesitate to reproduce it. By means of shapes to detect the frontal curvature, and the movement of the legs, we made a technical drawing with the tracing of all the dimensions. We also acquired a considerable amount of photographic material in order to reproduce the decorations. To our great satisfaction, at the sight of the two sideboards side by side, our client could not recognize the original model. Vangelista Mobili 1960, proud bearer of the true luxury made in Italy handmade, is the only artisan company that reproduces Venetian chinoiserie of 1600 with a very high level and refinement of decorations.
