Manufacture

Vangelista Mobili 1960 is one of the rare companies that faithfully reproduces original artifacts using the same working methods used in the Venetian workshops of the 1600s and 1700s, with the result of creating high-quality cabinet-making. The polishing of the refined console is done by hand with natural products, finished in natural cherry wood that highlights the warm veining of the wood tending to red. All the shaped pieces were traced by hand by tracing the original scale drawing on the solid cherry piece, hand-sawn and bench-mounted.

Model History

Century of use

The small console in solid cherry wood, made in the typical canons of the Louis Philippe and Charles X style, is reproduced from the period artifact dating back to the early nineteenth century, a period in which the furniture tends to moderate, almost bourgeois forms, in stark contrast to the previous period. The choice of color changes and the use of light wooden material triumphs, there is a gradual tendency to soften the shapes with the resurfacing of curved lines. The original piece of the elegant console is part of the private collection of our Milanese antiquarian Tullio Silva.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

One of our faithful customers sent us some photos of an original Charles X Louis Philippe style console dating back to the second half of the 1800s. asking us to reproduce it. For its realization we proceeded to create the dimensional technical drawings with the SolidWorks program. Then we traced the hand-shaped pieces by tracing the original scale drawing on the solid cherry piece, hand-sawn and then bench-mounted. The result is a splendid shaped console with original lines and shapes.
