Model Description

Model Structure

The structure has a door and a drawer, with hand-turned support legs that reflect the typicality of the furnishings produced in the high cabinet making workshops of the mid-eighteenth century. The interiors are made with two comfortable extractable shelves for pantry use. The decorations with baroque and geometric designs are on the top, sides, drawer and door, in a yellow ocher shade on a white antiqued background.

Raw Material

The structure is made of solid spruce; for the decorations are used natural products: water-based tempera on a gypsum background Bologna.

Manufacture

Designed, built, lacquered and decorated by hand with natural products in the high-cabinetry workshop Vangelista Mobili 1960, the cabinet presents an exclusive hand-crafted workmanship of the turned legs, which combined with the quality of the decorations take up the typical workmanship of the fine Made in Italy. The lacquer is coated with brown earth dust which creates an antique and lived-in effect.

The cabinet is reproduced from the original model dating back to the second half of the 1700s from the flourishing area of the Val di Fassa in Trentino-Alto Adige.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

One of our private customers noticed in the bedroom of a hotel in Trentino a pair of bedside tables decorated with baroque motifs in ivory and ocher yellow tones, which blend well together. He gave us detailed photographic material and the maximum dimensions to make them tailor-made. To bring them closer to the original model, the bedside tables we made were antiqued with a Bologna plaster base and coated with brown earth powder to create an antique and lived-in effect.
