RAW MATERIAL
Inlaid Louis XVI chest of drawers crafted from fine solid walnut, with firwood interiors and solid brass handles cast using traditional sand molds. An elegant piece of Italian classical furniture, handcrafted according to traditional cabinetmaking techniques.
THE PROCESSINGS
The legs are hand-carved and sculpted from fine walnut, featuring a traditional rose motif. The frame is assembled using strong traditional mortise-and-tenon joints, while the drawers feature expertly crafted dovetail joints. Decorative stringing is inlaid directly into the solid wood. The finish is entirely hand-applied using natural materials, including earth pigments to achieve the desired tone. The surface is carefully antiqued, finished with hand-brushed varnish, and protected with pure beeswax-based polish with turpentine.

Inspired by elegant 18th-century Louis XVI furniture, this chest of drawers evokes the atmosphere of historic Venetian aristocratic residences, such as Villa Pisani in Stra. Its refined lines, intricate inlays and hand-carved details reflect the tradition of 18th-century Venetian cabinetmaking. The piece is entirely handcrafted and inlaid at the Vangelista 1960 fine cabinetmaking workshop, where traditional woodworking techniques are passed down and reinterpreted using fine materials, artisanal craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
