The structure of the chest of drawers rests on saber-shaped legs. The front of the drawers is shaped and inlaid on a 4 mm veneer. On the front and on the edges stand out fillets inlaid in essence of maple and rosewood. The type of polishing applied highlights the veins of the precious walnut and the colors of the inlays.

Raw Material

Top, sides, legs and front frame of the elegant weekly chest of drawers are made of precious solid walnut wood, while the front part of the drawers is built with a 4 mm thick veneer. The inlaid fillets are in maple and rosewood, the interiors are in solid spruce. The handles were reproduced in bronze.

Manufacture

Weekly chest of drawers of luxury Made in Italy production, built, veneered, inlaid and polished by hand in the Vangelista Mobili 1960 high cabinet-making workshop. The shaped chest of drawers is hand-polished with a slightly antiqued wick, using the same methods used in artisan shops of the 1700s and using exclusively natural substances. The handles were reproduced in cast bronze on an earth mold and cloth polished; even the inlays of the frame and drawers are handmade.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

The original furniture of this splendid model dates back to the mid-1700s and is located at Palazzo Valmarana in Vicenza. Towards the mid-1970s we supplied furnishings for this building for the main entrance hall, which had to be combined with the only existing piece of furniture, the weekly chest of drawers. We found shapes, and all the photographic material necessary for the reproduction of all the matching furnishings, as well as reproducing the weekly chest of drawers. Given the strong demand for this model from our customers, we have also created the matching dresser and bedside tables.
