Tyrolean chest decorated by hand with floral motifs in ivory, green and red. Made to measure, it is ideal for furnishing important mountain residences.
The hand-decorated Tyrolean chest has a clean rectangular shape, embellished by the shaped and mixtilinear lower part both in the front and in the sides, which lightens its aesthetic system. It is pain-ted in soft colors of ivory and light green spaced out by a red piping. The decorations are extended on the top, on the sides and on the front with important bouquets of flowers that reflect the typical Trentino furnishings of the 1600s.
The Tyrolean chest is made of solid fir, a soft wood that lends itself well to the processing of deco-rations. For the decoration, water-based polychrome tempera is used, while Gesso Bologna is used for the preparation of the background to be decorated.
This small and valuable piece of furniture is produced in the Veneto Vangelista Mobili 1960 artisan workshop. The boards are assembled together with interlocking with an "internal core" so that they do not expand with the passage of time and ensure maximum stability. The lacquering is done by hand with natural products and a worn Bologna Gesso base, which gives the chest an antique flavor very similar to the original product. The hand decoration is made with polychrome water-based tempera. The uniqueness of the handcrafted product lies in its tailor-made creation, with each deco-rative element re-proportioned and decorated by hand according to the size of the chest.
The Tyrolean chest is produced in 2 sizes 100x40x58h. - 120x42x58h. being produced and decorat-ed by hand we can make it to measure.
The chest is made from a period artefact dating back to the second half of the seventeenth century, located in the splendid valley of Val di Sole, in Trentino Alto-Adige.
This simple and graceful chest has been reproduced from a period model that we have recovered for its restoration. With a plywood shape we have taken the moldings of the lid and of the lower part, with accurate photographic material the floral paintings have been reproduced.
