Model Structure

The lounge chest TV stand's profile is softly shaped presenting 4 lateral drawers used as a CD case, in the central part there is a flap with a removable shelf. The flap can be closed with locks and it is supported by brass arms. The bracket legs enlighten the aesthetic of the chest TV stand.

Raw Material

The chest TV stand is made of precious walnut wood, whereas the inner part of drawers, back and bottom are made of solid spruce wood, the knobs and keyhole covers are made of bronze poured in casting moulds like the original model, hand chiselled and polished with a cloth.

Manufacture

The plan and sides of the lounge chest TV stand with drawers and flap in '700 Venetian Asolean-beginning '800 Transition style are linked with a "slot-in" joint system, which is stable over time and stops the extension of the wood, The drawers are surrounded by an elegant outer frame, whereas the flap is assembled by framework. Inside, the drawers are built with "dovetail" joints and solid milled "diamond" bottom. The bracket base is open in the central part and topped by a cornice matched to the chest's details. Polished matte dark brown, with natural clays dissolved in water for the right colour, softly hand-antiqued established by hand-waxed shellac dissolved in alcohol and applied with a brush. This type of polishing makes the furniture shinier and enhances transparencies and walnut's grain, thanks to old techniques and natural products.

Century of use

The lounge chest TV stand with drawers and flap in '700 Venetian Asolean-beginning '800 Transition style dates back to the end of 18th century, from Valdagno Northern Vicentino. The lines and the structure are typical of Vicentino Direttorio style.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

The original furniture as a cupboard for the kitchen used as a pantry. We have retrieved this product in an old farmhouse in Valdagno, we have tracked the profile of the plan and the cornice, we have reproduced the same moulding with a milling machine and we have kept the structure with the drawers and the flap. We have readjusted the dimensions and transformed the furniture in a refined lounge chest TV stand with drawers and flap in '700 Venetian Asolean-beginning '800 Transition style. Thanks to our love for old furniture and handcrafting, Vangelista Mobili 1960 is the only company able to retrieve original products and making them customizable, in a real 100% Made in Italy.
