Hand-decorated chest in 18th-century Baroque Tyrolean style. The elevating shelf, the tall and shaped legs and hand-made polychromatic decorations with bright colours are the main features of precious 18th-century furniture from Trentino, Val di Fassa. Ideal for mountain furnishings.
MODEL STRUCTURE
The hand-decorated chest in 18th-century Baroque Tyrolean style has an elevating shelf used as a container, whereas the front is embellished by a small diamond shaped cornice, typical manufacturing for mountain furnishing. The body is supported by tall bracket legs divided by a finely moulded cornice.
RAW MATERIAL
The hand-decorated chest TV stand is made of solid spruce wood, widely used to handcraft mountain furnishings and excellent for chalk application and decorations.
THE PROCESSINGS
The hand-decorated chest in 18th-century Baroque Tyrolean style is assembled with “tongue and groove” joint, stable over time. The supporting legs are hand-shaped and the peculiarity of this furniture are the decorations. Consumed “gesso Bologna”, polychromatic decorations (with water-based tempera) with floral and baroque subjects. The background colour is asparagus green and the decorations are painted on grey coated white, with bright colours like red, yellow, light blue and pink. Antiqued with dust brown clays that give an old-fashioned and worn look, fixed with transparent hand-waxed shellac applied with a brush and protected by French virgin beeswax, applied with a cotton cloth.

CENTURY OF USE
The original chest dates back to the first half of 18th century, from Val di Fassa in Trentino-Alto Adige, where furniture was decorated with floral patterns and bright colours to recall the nature.
HISTORICAL NOTES AND CURIOSITIES OF MOBILE
This chest is a faithful reproduction of the original product – used as a bedroom laundry – that we have retrieved in Val di Fassa, Trentino-Alto Adige, in an ancient farmstead. We have kept the same features of the structure (shaped legs, diamond cornice) thanks to detailed pictures, technical dimensional drawings and profiles, in order to handcraft this impressive hand-decorated chest in 18th-century Baroque Tyrolean style, 100% Made in Italy.
