Model Description

Model Structure

The pantry cabinet is custom-made with 2 arch-shaped doors. The stem is supported by bracketed feet, both in the central part and in the sides. The interior is fitted with 3 adjustable shelves with rack ladders for pantry use. The shaped feet take up the typical workmanship of Tyrolean furnishings made towards the first half of the seventeenth century.

Raw Material

The pantry cabinet is made of solid spruce, wood typically used in Venetian shops of the eighteenth century to produce furnishings that lend themselves to lacquering. The hinges, the bolt inside the door and the lock are produced in hot forged wrought iron.

Manufacture

The structure of the frame is mounted with “tenon and mortise” joints, the doors and sides are in 3-layer fir, a guarantee of safety and stability over time against humidity or too dry environment. The corbelled legs are shaped by hand, the cornice of the cymatium shows the finely molded section, and shaped like an "arch" with the addition of an elegant little frame carved in its lower part. The doors take the same shape. The Tyrolean pantry closet, true Made in Italy tailor-made for mountain homes, excites at the sight for the complexity and importance of handmade decorations. The most complex workmanship is given by the decorations, carried out taking up the same techniques used in the prestigious Trentino workshops from the end of the seventeenth century: on a plaster-based base of consumed Bologna spread with a brush, the pantry is lacquered with colors in shades of green grass background , while the doors are dark green, the red color is shown in the carved frame and as a frame in the 2 doors. The decorations reproduce 2 scenes of mountain life, in the upper part of the 2 doors, in the lower part important vases with flowers. The sides are decorated with refined geometric patterns, while in the frame of the pantry is highlighted by splendid polychrome floral decorations. The patination with brown earth powders makes it an antique flavor very close to the original model.

Model History

Century of use

The pantry cabinet is reproduced in classic Tyrolean baroque style and reproduced from the period artefact dating back to the mid-1600s. The original model was found at a hotel of Val di Fassa in Trentino-Alto Adige.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

A prestigious hotel in Val di Fassa has contacted us to reproduce a pair of small entrance wardrobes, maintaining the same characteristics as the customer's original model. We have taken over the dimensions, the shaping of the cymatium, reproduced the same hardware in hot forged iron and detected all the decorations present in the original artifact. Thanks to this material and thanks to our great passion for Tyrolean mountain furnishings, we were able to reproduce a piece of the highest quality Made in Italy craftsmanship, completely similar to the original model, made to measure and perfect for mountain homes.
