Classic 18-th century Provençal cherry wood cupboard in big dimension. The width of the 3 shutters is the distinctive feature, whereas sobriety and elegance make the furniture precious and unique, hand-made 100% Made in Italy.
MODEL STRUCTURE
The classic 18-th century Provençal cherry wood cupboard in big dimension has 3 central big shutters built with framework and, in the lower part, 3 big drawers in perfect symmetry with the shutters. The cornice, which is finely moulded and very prominent, makes slim the whole structure, supported by 4 shaped legs. Inside, there are 2 compartments.
RAW MATERIAL
The outside of the cupboard is made of cherry wood, typically used for provençal furnishing, whereas the inside is made of solid spruce wood. Drawers handlers, keys and keyhole covers are made of bronze.
THE PROCESSINGS
The cupboard is really huge, so the structure is detachable for convenience in transportation and assembly. The shutters are processed with a framework and assembled with mortise and tenon. The drawers have “dove-tails” interlocks with an internal “diamond” bottom. The supporting legs are shaped from solid cherry wood. The back is processed with the high-qualiity crossframe. Then, the Provençal cherry wood cupboard in big dimension is polished with natural water-based clays to botain the right colour, antiqued by stone and established by shellac applied with a brush. In the final step of the polishing, the yellow straw oil and pumice stone are fixed with an old technique (a pad soaked with oil). This step enhances the natural grain and colour of cherry wood, and makes the furniture shiny. The cupboard is completely hand-made and hand-polished in our art laboratory Vangelista Mobili 1960, 100% Made in Italy.

The cherry wood cupboard in big dimension is built in classic 18-th century Provençal style, dating back to the second half of the18th century, and it is reproduced with the same decorative technique of craftsmen in the south of Provence, France.
