Double leaf door shaped cupboard with four seasons decoration in baroque ‘700 Tyrolean style with 2 drawers for luxury mountain furnishing.
The upper part of the double leaf door shaped cupboard with four seasons decoration is shaped in “gendarme hat”, with two manufactured mixtilinear door leaves. The elegant notching lightens the aesthetics. The frame is supported by 4 onion-shaped legs with a diameter proportionated to the structure and separated from the framework by a delicate moulded frame. Hand-crafted with tenons and mortises in order to assemble the whole furniture. Inside the cupboard, there are a clothes hanger and a removable shelf.
The cupboard is completely made of solid spruce wood ,with a compact and soft fibre easy to shape and able to prevent from exposure to humidity.
The main colour of the double leaf door shaped cupboard is the carmine red. The ends are decorated with lovely floral patterns and they are slightly notched. The door leaves are decorated with polychromatic four seasons, with agricultural scenes enhanced by a creamy white background and divided by a finely decorated band. The drawers are enriched by natural clays for an old-fashioned look, fixed with transparent shellac applied with a brush and final coating with a virgin beeswax.
Built in two sizes 126x58x192h and 145x66x220h, the double leaf door shaped cupboard with four seasons decoration in baroque '700 Tyrolean style is hand-crafted and customizable for decorations and dimension according to the customer's needs.
The cupboard dates back to 1700, from Val Badia in Trentino-Alto Adige. In this region there was abundance of artisans.
According to Vangelista Mobili 1960’s information, the original double leaf door shaped cupboard with four seasons decoration in baroque '700 Tyrolean style is in Thun castle, a property of the Thuns, one of the most important noble families in Trento. There were two samples of the cupboard, opposite each other and close to sixteenth-century armchairs.
