Big old-fashioned white lacquered bedroom cupboard in classic 18th-century Asolean Venetian style. The clean lines date back to the Venetian furniture crafting at the beginning of the 19th century. The cupboard is hand-crafted in our high-quality woodworking art laboratory Vangelista Mobili 1960 100%. Made in Italy.
MODEL STRUCTURE
The structure of the big old-fashioned white lacquered bedroom cupboard in Asolan Venetian style is completely detachable for convenience in transportation and assembly. It has 5 symmetric shutters and inside it is divided by 3 compartments. The central panel has a diamond processing along the internal perimeter, which recalls the typical Venetian furniture crafting. The base and the cornice are finely moulded to slim the whole structure. Inside there are 3 compartments and the central one is arranged with some adjustable shelves with a wooden rack, as a pantry. In the compartment on the right there is a dresser with 3 drawers, countertops and a clothes hanger on the top. The back of the cupboard is mounted with a cross-frame, to reproduce the same woodworking from the original cupboard. The main feature of this big old-fashioned white lacquered bedroom cupboard in 18th-century Asolean Venetian style are the type of keyholes: the shutters are solid, so we have fixed on the inside a central keyhole with a vertical latch, in order to preserve an airtight perfect closing over time.
RAW MATERIAL
The big old-fashioned white lacquered bedroom cupboard in Asolan Venetian style is made of lime wood, inside and outside. Lime is a type of wood excellent both for woodworking and crafting, because it is knotless and it has a clean and simple grain; moreover, lime wood has a soft and compact fibre that performs well for lacquering. Last, but not least, it isn’t much sensitive to humidity or direct sunlight, so it is stable over time.
THE PROCESSINGS
The shutters, sides and back are assembled with mortise and tenon, typical in Venetian furnitureof the 18th century. The cornice and base are milled, also in big dimension, by a solid piece of wood. Keyholes, hinges and keyhole covers are hand-made with bronze poured in casting moulds. The lacquer is white, antiqued by stone and, in the coating process, the grey clays are massaged to the ageing grooves, for an old-fashioned look. The whole thing is fixed with clear coating protected by virgin beeswax.

The big old-fashioned white lacquered bedroom cupboard in classic 18th-century Asolan Venetian style dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, from north of Vicenza.
HISTORICAL NOTES AND CURIOSITIES OF MOBILE
The original big old-fashioned white lacquered bedroom cupboard in Asolan Venetian style was in the National Archive of Vicenza. Its function was container and documents case, with some adjustable shelves with wooden rack and the latch ensured the safety of important dossiers. We decided to reproduce the furniture increasing the cupboard depth, so that it can be used as a bedroom cupboard. The acrylic lacquering, with a brush, makes the furniture look old-fashioned, thanks to white lacquer’s strokes and grey clays coating.
