Luxury small-sized mirror gilded in gold leaf. This precious piece of furniture can be easily inserted into important bedrooms, exclusive living rooms and prestigious entrances of sophisticated homes and luxury homes. Currently a couple of these splendid mirrors are in the entrance hall of Palazzo Cà Vendramin Calergi overlooking the Grand Canal.

Model Structure

The elegance of the shapes and the refinement of the carvings, the distinctive character of 18th century Venetian luxury furniture and of the real handmade Made in Italy, create an exciting impact on the sight of these mirrors.

Raw Material

Luxury small-sized mirror produced in solid arolla pine wood.

Manufacture

The Venetian frames are hand-carved in our high cabinetry workshop on solid pine wood with the same working methods of the eighteenth century, through the use of a series of gouges and chisels and following the pencil sketch. Subsequently the mirrors are lacquered with a gilding in consumed gold leaf which includes 6 steps and protected with natural transparent varnish. The mirror is shaped by hand and slightly antiqued.

Being made by hand, the Venetian mirror mirrors can be reproduced according to size and type of lacquering. Produced in the measure: 39x56h. x 5 thick.

Model History

Century of use

The mirror are reproduced from the originals dating back to the early 700s. Currently a couple of these splendid mirrors are located in the entrance hall of Palazzo Cà Vendramin Calergi, which overlooks the Grand Canal.

Historical notes and mobile curiosities

We have reproduced this pair of very refined mirrors for a well-known Hotel in Venice, starting from an original model dating back to the early eighteenth century. The depth of the carvings and the luster of the gold leaf gilding express the typicality of the furnishings in the Venetian Baroque Louis XV style.
